Storm® Secure Wax Block

Affordable and dependable rodent control all year round

Active ingredient(s): 0.05 g/kg Flocoumafen

Storm® Secure Wax Blocks are a trusted industry standard for reliable rat and mouse control. Very durable, stable and cost-effective baits, they are ideal for year-round protection of vulnerable areas. Their high levels of palatability and potency mean fewer bait pulses are needed to achieve control. It only takes a single feed for rodents – even ones with developed resistance to other baits – to consume a lethal dose.

Key benefits

  • The trusted industry standard
  • Quick and easy use
  • Economical and effective

How it works

Storm® Secure contains a powerful second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide formulated with BASF Fortec™ Technology into a compressed cereal grain block, with an added fungicide to prevent mould in humid or damp conditions.

Only a very small amount of Storm Secure is needed to kill a rat or mouse, and a lethal dose can be consumed in a single feed. Rodents then die three to five days after taking the bait. With some other rodenticides, rodents die more than a week after taking the bait.

Storm Secure is a highly palatable and durable bait block that is quick and easy to use. A central hole allows each block to be anchored securely in baiting points for the best targeting and to prevent removal.

When Storm Secure is used for pulse baiting, its potency means that less bait is required to achieve control – even when baits are still placed in as many points as possible. That makes Storm Secure more economical than other rodenticides.

Questions and Answers from the Field

  • Are rodenticides harmful to humans?

Rodenticides, like BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block, are formulated to control rodent populations. Yes, BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block is designed for use both in and around industrial, commercial, agricultural, and domestic buildings. When using indoors, it's essential to select suitable bait locations, such as active rat holes or along runs, ensuring they're inaccessible to non-target species, children, and pets.

  • Can consumers buy professional rat poison?

BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block is a professional-grade rodenticide that provides reliable rat and mouse control that is not available for consumers to buy. It is designed to be used by professional pest controllers who will know appropriate dosage and how to use it most effectively.

  • How do you control rodent population in agricultural areas?

For controlling rodent populations in agricultural settings, BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block can be strategically placed in bait locations such as active rat holes, along runs, and under rubbish. Storm Secure Wax Block bait's potency ensures effective control with fewer bait pulses, making it an economical choice for large areas.

  • How do you keep rats out of factories?

To keep rats out of factories, you can use BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block by establishing a barrier of bait locations between living and feeding areas. Placing durable and palatable Storm Secure Wax Blocks at strategic locations can deter rats and control their population.

  • What are wax blocks used for?

Wax blocks, like the BASF’s Storm Secure Wax Block rodenticide, are used for effective rat and mouse control. Their durability, combined with potent active ingredients, offers year-round protection in vulnerable areas, ensuring rodents consume a lethal dose with a single feed.
